CommentsLandmark Developers Corporate Offices What was once an abandoned warehouse and garage is now a state-of-the-art office facility. A barrel roof that is so prominent from the exterior of the building houses a kitchen lounge, alligator pit, and loft offices accessed from a metal spiral staircase all with a view of the Manhattan skyline. Using ordinary furniture and fixtures in unordinary places, the design called for a contrast between the old industrial warehouse with new, modern elements. The design utilizes Kalwall, glass, and corrugated metals. The interior continues the contrast of old industrial and modern. The walls of wood panel and mahogany battens are replicated from the owner’s home, which is an original Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian home. Other materials include glass tile, concrete, and raw steel. The elevator shaft was done in galvanized steel to pay homage to the building’s industrial past.
