Now in the process of extreme maintenence of the 160 acrea that are fenced and bringing back the Herschell Ranch which is a Nevada Landmark from before 1900 because of the gold that was found in Badger canyon in the late 1800's. A history of moonshining, cattle business, alfalfa and wheat production, and the best water around for miles coming from a spring and a mile long pipeline to the ranch that was put in around 1912. Rustic and not modern.

One mile away in Badger Canyon is a pristine location for many and varied locations that are within our 80 acre mining claim and is rugged and primitive. Many high peaks and mountains with juniper and sagebrush, rock outcrippings, primitive roads and trails. The ranch is 160 acres of rolling topography and arroyos, slopes, expanse with unobstructed views. Dirt roads around the ranch that date back to the 1800's. The lake is only in the spring when the water is flowing at a good rate. Later in the summer the lake dries up and the stock pond has water in it all summer for the most part. We use the water for irrigation of our trees and garden and household needs along with the animals and such. We are taking steps to increase the flow with the little that we have. We are a single family and we have experienced drought and difficulties the same as others in the valley. It is a hard life but a wonderful life out in the open spaces of Northern Nevada 180 ,iles from Reno to the East. |
