Over the last 45 years, the New York Film Festival has brought hundreds of thousands of film aficionados a matchless showcase of films, and this year festival goers can expect more of the same.

The 46th annual Film Festival will feature a diverse lineup of films that come from 18 countries around the globe.

The opening day is September 26th, and for the next 17 days the NYFF will show 28 films spearheaded by Clint Eastwood’s Changeling, a film that stars John Malkovich and Angelina Jolie. Eastwood used filming locations across California and in Vermont for his production, which has coined as the NYFF Masterpiece.

Laurent Cantet’s The Class will screen first, and the Closing Night film is Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler. Aronofsky has written and directed over a dozen films, including the Oscar nominated Requiem for a Dream filmed in New York. Aronofsky used cities in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey as filming locations for The Wrestler.

China’s Jia Zhangke and England’s Mike Leigh will both have their films shown during the film festival, and NYFF veteran Steven Soderbergh is back with his biography Che starring Benicio Del Toro.

The exclusive features that the NYFF put are highlighted by an HBO Films Dialogue in which festival-goers will be able to listen to directors speak about their films and the production process.

The New York Film Festival is sure to embrace the art of filmmaking across the globe and show the hundreds of thousands of people who attend an unforgettable experience in film.
