It features beautiful views of the West and, from the House terrace and the top of nearby hills, 360 degree views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. It is patterned after the palace of Knossos in Crete and features wood beam ceilings and unplastered scoria block walls. It is a 15 minute drive from some spectacular spots around the Rio Grande rapids.
