This is one of the 1st houses across the water from Manhattan. this was used as a boarding house in the 20's...well known that Al Capone boarded her and bootlegged from this house...broughr=t the boats up in front of the house when the tide was high...unloaded them in the sub-basement that still remains. they would wave lanterns from one house to another when the constables were coming across the water from Manhattan. Used as a B&B in the 40"s.
