Old Spanish/ Mediterranean charm, built in 1927 by Jack Conway (famous director in Old Hollywood). This beautiful old home is filled with lovely antiques, many of which were owned by famous movie people, such as the piano owned by Jean Harlow and chairs by Rudolph Valentino. There is a lovely garden and historic Guest House/ Glasshouse built by Randolph Hearst for Marion Davies. This beautiful home is nestled in a lush canyon North of Sunset in Beverly Hills.
The antique filled living room has a 41 ft. beam ceiling. There is a secret passage through the bookcase in the living room into a game room that lies below. Jack Conway who wrote and directed the original movie "Mutiny On The Bounty" built the house. The game room is designed as a ship with the wheel from the Four Master Schooner that was used in the movie. There are port holes looking under water out into the out door pool (see pictures). A beautiful bar that was moved from Los Angeles Street owned by the famous fighter Jim Jefferies. Clark Gable, Jack Conway and others spent many hours playing poker in this room.
The kitchen walls are completely tiled. The baths have sunken bath/shower.
The Guest House/Greenhouse which is very unique and charming was once part of the old Marion Davies Esate. The Cottage consists of a center building that is an English Tudor style with the glasshouses radiating from each side. This was modeled after one in Buckinghame Palace.
The main house has two interior fireplaces and one exterior. The grounds also consist of a rose garden, pool and paddle tennis court.
